Erika's Approach
Erika Silveira, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and member of the CRPO and CCPA, brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to psychotherapy. With a strong foundation in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Erika draws from her diverse therapeutic background to support individuals and families on their journey toward healing and personal growth.
Currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, Erika’s practice is informed by 10 years of experience working with children, youth, and families facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and aggression. She creates a safe, empathetic environment where clients feel supported and understood, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of everyone.
Erika is particularly skilled at using creative methods when working with children, such as art and play, to help them explore and express their emotions in ways that feel natural and engaging. These innovative techniques empower children to build emotional resilience and develop healthy coping mechanisms that can support them through life’s challenges.
In her work with parents, Erika adopts a collaborative approach, helping them develop strategies to support their children’s mental health while fostering stronger family dynamics. Her expertise extends to working with couples, particularly those navigating parenting challenges, offering them insight and tools to enhance communication and strengthen their relationship. Erika recognizes the importance of a connected and supportive partnership in parenting, and she works with couples to help them foster deeper connections, ensuring that their relationship is a stable foundation for the well-being of the entire family.
